the vanguard us equity index(tracks total S&P 500)
.20% + platform fee £2 a month
this would be porfolio
is it best to save fees---to just invest in this fund or diverse into other funds europe/pacific ect but would add much higher fees

Would this be your only holding? Have you looked at the Vanguard Lifestrategy funds - the fees are slightly higher, but you get global exposure with rebalancing.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

For what it's worth, my wife's SIPP is invested 80% in Vanguard LS 100% equities and 20% into some active bond funds. Fixed interest scares me more than equities right now, but I'll probably switch to passive for this too in the medium to long term.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television.
