Bank of Scotland bank charges. Is this correct??

Hi
I have a bank of Scotland current account which is still open although it has a zero balance and hasn't been used in around a year.
I tried to claim back charges on this around 2008 and it was put on hold pending the outcome of the court case. Obviously when the banks won my claim was rejected.
I have been made redundant and find myself in financial hardship and wrote a template letter last week asking them to reconsider this decison. I got a phone call earlier and the woman who agreed I was in financial hardship said she could consider giving me charges back from the past 12 months and obviously there are none.
Where do I go from here is this correct or can I pursue this?
It's around £1200 in charges.
Thanks

Most banks only consider the last 6-12 months under financial hardship or the period you have been in hardship. So, their response does appear to be what you would expect.Where do I go from here is this correct or can I pursue this?
You have nowhere to go. You can refer it to the FOS but the FOS no longer have the ability to force a bank to refund charges. They just make sure that the bank has considered your request fairly and it does appear that they have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If, as you say, the account has not been used for the past year then it doesn't sound like it's your main one, and you certainly don't appear to need it anymore.
Why not ask the bank to close the account for you?0 -

Cheers for the replys. I forgot the account was still live but it's being closed now. Not sure why that's relevant though!0
