scotcall, arrow global etc

i recently recieved a letter off of a company called scotcall saying if i didnt pay them theyd be giving the debt to a "field agent" to deal with. before this company got in touch the debt was with a company called arrow global who have clearly sold on the debt or returned it to original company and theyve subsequently sold it on, thing is the claimed date of original default is in dec 07 according to scotcall, and when i asked to see a copy of my agreement with original company and bills that i apparently didnt pay they said i had to go to original company yet arrow global have put a default on my credit history in 2010 despite me never speaking to this company.. are they allowed to do this? i would like to remove this off of my history as its the only default on there and if i could remove it have no problem in getting into talks with original company providing they supplie me with original bills and contract. anyone have any advice on this, would be really apreciated
