ppi claim in divorce

My husband took on all debts after his divorce and made all payments including ppi payments.
now he has been told he is entitled to a full refund of ppi with lloyds tsb but not unless he can get his ex to sign the papers as well. he has not seen his ex for over 8 years and has no idea where she is. the claim is now being refused because he cannot get joint signatures. what to do next? lloyds claim that even the financial ombudsmen service will not accept the claim because there are not joint signatures on the paperwork..
what can he do please as it is over £1700 he is owed and we could do with the money.
help please.

DOH! the OP said that he has not seen his ex wife for 8 years, how is he supposed to contact her if he has no idea where she is."Oh you Knid, you are vile and vermicious!
You are slimy and soggy and squishous!
But what do we care

So hop it and don't get ambitious!"0 -

Perhaps he can find her on Facebook or Friends Reunited? Perhaps he can ask mutual associates?
As I said, there is LITTLE he can do .
(I'd also expect her to want and be entitled to half of any redress she co-signs for)0 -
He has no way at all of contacting her as I already said.
does anyone else have any helpful advice please?
ThanksBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
there isnt any useful advice apart from find him, he would be entitled to half the redress
It's my husband's ex-wife and again, absolutely no way to find her!
I know she would be entitled to half but how can you give it to the invisible woman??? she could be dead for all we know.
Someone else must have experience of this...BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
In a similar situation; had to get a certified copy of divorce certificate and financial consent order (as it specified that there had been a clean break and we had no claims against each other). Also got a copy of the updated loan agreement in my sole name as it was transferred as part of the divorce. They seem to have finally accepted this!
Did your husband have the loan transferred into his name after the divorce?0 -
On what greebo stated, I would send the a copy of the divorce papers to the bank and tell them the ex cannot be found and ask if they can do 50% of the redress to your hubby, they may agree to do this it just means that the 50% for the ex stays at the bank.
If they won't then I would contact FOS as 50% of that money is your husbands, it is not his fault the ex cannot be found.0 -
I doubt the bank would accept the offer of receiving 50% payment. It's not an issue over the redress. But the ex hasnt signed the offer acceptance for full and final settlement of the complant and will not take complaint to FOS and the court, which of course the ex could still do.
I remember from being at FOS there were a lot of complaints they wouldnt take on due to not having both customers sign the FOS questionnaire.
Its not really the banks issue she cant be found, its a private matter.0
