How to compare Best International Bank transfer rates?

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a way to compare the exchange rates offered by the main banks over time?
I work for a charity overseas and receive my salary in the UK as a transfer into my account in USD. The bank then automatically exchanges this at their rate. I have a feeling that there are significant fluctuations but could not find a simple way to check as the rates vary day by day.
The best I could find was this site but it just gives a snap shot.
