Survey and returning our solicitors papers ???

Hi
We accepted the offer on our house 2 weeks ago Wednesday and I have called the EA as we still haven't had the survey carried out. They have said to wait untill this week and call if we haven't heard anything.
They did say the people buying are with natwest or nationwide don't know if this makes a difference.
My question is we have received the pack from our solicitors to fill out, do we return this after the survey or before ???
I just don't want to incur extra costs if the buyers decide to pull out.
We want to move ASAP so we can give the tenants in our other house notice to leave ( house we are eventually moving back to)
What would you do....
Thanks
Lisa

Don't panic.
It can take a couple of weeks for a survey to be arranged and you need to bear in mind that we've recently had a few Bank Holidays which will have delayed things.
When we sold it was about 2 1/2 weeks before I heard anything about a survey being arranged.
I would fill out the forms and get them sent back to your solicitor.0 -
When we sold last year we received and returned the forms to our solicitor within the first week, but I believe (if I remember correctly as it seems an age away now!) that it was almost a month before we heard regarding their survey being carried out. However, in that month our buyers arranged two or three further viewings on our house to measure up etc and made it very clear on those visits that they were very serious about buying it.......they had a three hour round trip to do so plus they showed us pics of stuff they had ordered specially - despite Mr Buyer reminding Mrs Buyer that they should hold fire till exchange

I certainly wouldn't be panicking just yet

I think that most of the work the solicitor needs to do on your sale at this point will need to be done no matter who the buyer is--if they do it now, you'll be prepared for another buyer if this one doesn't work out.
Also, have you checked with the solicitors about whether it is payment on completion? If so, I think you could probably send the paperwork off without needing to worry about payment for now. Ours only asked for about £13 for ID checks and the cost of sending copies to the purchaser's solicitor on our initial sales paperwork.0 -
Hi
Thanks for the replies.
We have the forms all ready to post special delivery on the morning 😄
I checked with the EA and they said that natwest normally do all the checks then the survey but they are chasing it up tomorrow.
We have put that we want to complete by the end of July so I put this on the form.
