Barclaycard Faster Payments Advice

I made a payment to my Barclaycard via a faster payment on Saturday morning. There is still no sign of it having been credited to my Barclaycard.
Can anyone who has Barclaycard and pays them in this way tell me if this is normal for them?
I read up that I could send my payment via faster payments and if sent before 4pm it should be credited the same day but I'm not sure if this counts on a weekend or not. I don't want to start ringing them, if it isn't necessary. This is the first time I have made a payment to the account and have just double checked all the information, so I know it was sent correctly.

If you did it online, wait till end of teh day today for an Email confirming payment.
Sat/Sun are not standard working days, so even if payments are processed, the confirm email and processing to move and show teh money probably wont show up till later today and tomorrow morning respectivly.

Thanks for that, I wondered if that might be the case. It's the first time I've made a faster payment on a weekend day, think in fututre I'll wait until a Monday.

It makes no difference if you send it on the Saturday, Sunday or Monday morning. It's just that the "system" doesn't update at weekends.

Note that although you have sent it by Faster Payment, it may not appear on your Barclaycard on-line statement until Tuesday because, although the bank will have recorded the payment as Sent, and Received by Barclaycard, it will be processed by Barclaycard today but the online account will only be updated overnight - tonight.

OK thanks for that, it is the first time I have paid Barclaycard and assumed it would work pretty much the same as others do. With my Aqua and Cap One the online balance always reflects it as being received within a few hours and the balance reduces, although the online statement, as you say doesn't update until the next day.
My main concern is with it being the first time with Barclaycard, although I know I used all the correct details when setting it up and sending it, I won't feel entirely comfortable until I see it credited.
I only got the statement on Saturday, so it's not an issue for payment at least as it's not due until 12/07 but I like to get things paid straight away. Barclaycard aren't as on the ball as some of the others then, when it comes to crediting your account? Or is it just the updating that is slower?

Always a good idea to send a test payment of a quid, before sending the full balance, if you've just set up online payment details...

I paid some money to Barclaycard on Saturday 2nd June via Faster Payment. It showed up on the online statement on Thursday 7th with no indication that it was processed any sooner (it was the extended Jubilee break, remember).

At the same time (Saturday) I paid my Cahoot CC and the payment was recorded and on my current list of transactions within three hours.

If I pay Barclaycard at, say, 9am on a normal working day it shows up at least twelve hours later and sometimes not until the following morning.

The difference is solely down to the systems they employ.

Ironically if I pay by Barclaycard on a Friday night lo and behold the transaction is there by Sunday morning. It seems that they can record your purchases but not your payments:D

Just to update and finish this one off...........

My FASTER payment sent at 10am Saturday 16th June was applied to my account on 18th June and the online account updated overnight. I got a text message at 8 26 this morning telling me they were dealing with my payment and applying it to my account.
Thats real progress for 2012 lol!!!
