Monday 18th June What small DFW things will you do today ??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Good morning everyone! hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Busy busy this week as last week I was away for work.

Just heard back on a job I applied for in Juba... eek! They want me to take a written test tomorrow at lunch time.

    To do in MSE:
    - get back on top of finances as was out of the loop last week
    - try to get all expenses together to file for trip, will need the cash!
    - meal plan for week
    - tea from stores and plan
    - not very MSE but bring wonton soup from takeaway to sick OH at lunchtime as he has the man flu and may expire any at moment
    - scan payslips to finish filing US taxes
    - email people I'll be consulting for over next few weeks - yay, spare cash!
    - get my wiggle on at work to catch up

Glad to hear you sounding much more chipper on the weekend thread, Karb!

    Hugs to all.

Good morning everyone, It is a rather dull day here today but I am feeling positive so will keep smiling :).

Magni – Thanks for starting us off this morning.

This weekend was rather busy so not really got very much done although I did save some money as I didn’t spend as much as I had budgeted for on dd’s party. Me and hubby have also decided to stay at home this summer so will save money on holiday as well, although will be taking the children out places.

    My list for today:
:)[STRIKE]Collect up washing and do full loads. Hang on the airer to dry however towels will be dried in td to make them soft for dd.[/STRIKE] It turned into a lovely sunny day therefore managed to get washing out and dried.
:)[STRIKE]Look into houses to rent locally (Have decided to look for somewhere a bit bigger but have set a budget)[/STRIKE] Nothing at the moment but then we are not in any rush.
    :)[STRIKE]Work (11:30-2)[/STRIKE]
    :)[STRIKE]Look into available jobs[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Pay some money off loan[/STRIKE] Another £100 paid off it :)
:)[STRIKE]Look into increasing income[/STRIKE] Thinking about making some things to sell.
:)Contact some places regarding my change of name Work In Progress, will continue with this tomorrow
    :)[STRIKE]Quick shower[/STRIKE]
    :)[STRIKE]Defrost the freezer[/STRIKE]
:)Look into getting backdated benefits Will need to contact the council to arrange a meeting and dicuss it with them.
:)[STRIKE]Do some studying and sort the rest of the study plans[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]All meals from stores[/STRIKE] Basically we are eating left overs from the party

I think that is everything that I need to get done today. Have a good day everyone x

Hi all, I do apologise that my posts may have been a bit down in the dumps recently but I'm going to stop that right away as 1) the bad tooth is out and the antibiotics should cure the lingering infection 2) my DH has fixed my car! He is an :A as I was worried sick I'd have to scrap it.

    So today

:) try and be a bit more cheerful!
:) washing on the line although clouds looming.
:) just checked bank accounts, all as it should be.
:) done the weeks shop, in budget despite the amount of chocolate that fell in.:o
:) DS sports day cancelled so going to make him a chocolate cake to cheer him up.
:) managed to borrow a rucksack for DS school trip so I don't have to buy one.
:) dishwasher on, half a tablet. One box from Aldi has lasted ages since I started chopping them up!;)

Have a great day everyone. :D

I could do with more days like today, as I have completed almost everything on my list and just got a couple of things to finish off tomorrow. Well I am off to play with the children for a bit, have something to eat and then watch some television. Tonight will be a relaxing evening, which is something very strange for me.
