White wool blanket - help how do I get it white again?

Options
I lent my friend some baby blankets almost eight years ago and have just got them back! Unfortunaelty they've seen better days and aren't really white any more. Please help me to restore the whiteness into them. I've washed them through hoping a good wash would do the trick but to no avail. HELP!

I used denture tablets successfully on my childrens white blankets/sheets. Napisan might help. Sunshine is a good natural way of whitening, just shame weather isn't very predictable.
One day I might be more organised...........

Did you just soak the blankets in the dissolved denture tablets or did you add them to a wash?

Wish it was daytime and sunshining, really need to try something now!

I put them in a bath of water and threw the tablets in with them, swished it a few times and just left to soak for a few hours. I think I put about 5 tablets in but they were bad, also loaned out! Did the same with net curtains and it worked so tried it with blankets and worked well also.

Haven't got any tablets in the cupboard - my teeth are my own and I'm new to old style!

I think I'll soak them overnight in washing powder - certainly won't do them any harm, then hopefully it'll be sunny tomorrow and I can peg them out until I can get denture tablets at the weekend!

    Thanks!

    Tesco own denture tablets :)

Gotta be worth a try surely! And you can use them to clean your loo too ;)
