capital one , i am confused.

i have a progress card and owed £13.14 on it which i paid a total of £13.15 bringing it up to date and 1 pence in credit. i sent a secure message to ask for the card to be closed as i no longer want it. they replied telling me that they would send a cheque for the 1 penny, 
and close the account and update my credit files as settled. i have just logged in to see on my account two balance transfer adjustments of 1 penny each and it now saying my balance is 1 pence and available credit is £499.00 and not £500.01(the credit limit is £500),and balance is £499. 99?????can anyone tell me what they have done please or have experianced this with capital one. many thanks in advance,
