A few weeks or so ago, videos and forms stopped working on my laptop. I get the message that flash player needs to be installed, but can't seem to install it.
Someone suggested it was an update problem and that I should use another browser, but I would rather not if I can help it. Any ideas, anyone?

This link is for the 32 bit version of flash player for Internet Explorer

You should be able to download it, click save, then close the browser before installing it
The other versions are listed on the page0 -
hi, thanks for that. I get the same message I've been getting before - option to open or save. When i save as, it downloads then won't open from my laptop to run. Any ideas?

Were you trying to install it from here before?
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If not, try it, remove the tick for McAfee scan plus and select either 32 or 64 bit
It says you may need to disable the anti virus to install it, so you could try that with the file you just downloaded.0 -
Yeah, that's why I tried it from. Not sure how to diable the AV though?

If you haven't uninstalled the existing version of flash player, you can do that
Open IE then click tools, internet options, advanced and click reset, then restart IE
Download Flash Player from here

If it does not run, do any other downloaded files install?
You could try Palemoon as a browser, then install this version of flash player

Palemoon

You should consider getting an AV Programme0
