Chances of opening a bank account?

Looking to open an account (Halifax or something, with a debit/credit card to sue online and out and about) somewhere to get my JSA paid into (this will then turn into wages when i find a job), I have no debt, never had a loan, credit card, catalogue or anything like that. My JSA is currently paid into my mums account, but i want my own.
she and my sister said theres a chance i wont be able to get one...
On the I.D side of things through looking on the Halifax site, i have got no driving license, no passport as not been abroad since 97, live at home so no utility bills, can provide P45, benefit book and original notification letter
Soooooo, what do you think the chances are of me getting one? zero?

then take your P45, benefit book and original notification letter and they should be able to open an account for you. Probably no credit, but a bank account shouldn't be a problem if your on the electoral roll.
could you take a utility bill as well? Even if its not in your name? Would help your case as proof of address. I assume your surename is the same as others in your family.0 -
A basic account would be your best bet.
You can do this online with the bank of your choice - if they cannot electronically verify you they will ask you to call at a branch with your ID.0
