Electric Pitches at Haven

We are looking about going Camping at a Haven site have been looking at there website about it but i am a bit confused.

we have a 4 man tent but they have a Basic pitch and a Basic pitch with Electric.

so we wanted to know if we go for the Basic pitch with Electric are they normal plugs so that we could plug out phones in or a kettle or are they some sort of special hook up,s?

External electical hookups - you can get extension cables to use with these that give you normal plugs but I wouldn't bother.

You do need to buy the hook up kit - as in the link above- and if you want to use electric then you do need this adaptor-....

We never bother with electric - but if you want it you need the hook up extension kit..

Once you have bought a hook up lead that goes from the site socket into your tent you can then plug in ordinary domestic appliances. Electric isnt essential when you are camping but its nice to have, especially if you are away for a week or more. One of the most useful things we have is an electric coolbox which means we can buy food in advance and cook our own meals which long term saves us money.

Also if there is an electric pitch available it usually doesnt cost much more so you can save the cost of buying gas bottles.

We also take an electric fan heater for cold weather. There is lots of info on the ukcampsite website about electric hook ups. Just be aware that you are limited to the amount of power you can use. Most Haven electric hook ups are 16amps and a 2000w fan heater will use 2000/230 = 8.69 amps of power.
