I've tried setting up a bridge between two routers unsuccessfully and now want to try home plugs
Is there any specifications to look for or things to consider? Any gold standard models?
I have 10meg Virgin, router in office on same floor as Sky box want to get broadband too
Thanks

I recently upgraded to these: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/netgear-xavb5101-powerline-ethernet-adapter-12302320-pdt.html and they are great.
Small and I get speeds of 400mb/s on one socket and 200mb/s on another. More than enough to stream HD (from a NAS) and more bandwidth than your internet connection has (even if using BT Infinity at 80mb/s).

Or try these:

Although I use these 85mbs ones and they work fine on PC/Ps3/Xbox for gaming, video etc:

In fact I bought some more only last week.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

You really don't want the 85mbs ... if you upgrade to BT infinity you wont get anywhere near your bandwidth. The 85mbs I had maxed out at about 30mb/s.
200mb/s are okay. As the 500mb/s ones were not that more expensive (they were £79.99 although weirdly appear to be £99.99 now) than the 200mb/s ones I thought I would try and 'future proof' for a few more months!0 -
Rather than trust PCWorld - have a chat with Solwise, they are extremely knowledgeable, not pushy, plus they are one of the originators of the homeplug concept; http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-500av-index.htm and/pr call them on 01482 672866
We use Solwise both ourselves and installing on cistomer premises. the 200mbps and 500mbps can be installed on the same network.
the 85's are being phased out, a pair of 200's are approx £38, or the 500's around £44, but there are other options too, multiplugs, wireless plugs, and pass-through plugs.0
