16 if single, 24 if part of a couple, where the other half could be economically active (i.e. not disabled, etc.)0 -
For child tax credit it makes no difference what hours you work (or even if you work or not).matt987106 wrote: »Hi all

For working tax credit the hours you need to work depends on your age, whether you're single or a couple, whether you have kids or not, and whether you have a disability or not.0 -
for a single person with no children it is 30 hours per week for working tax credits unless you have a disability0

thanks
Well we are married, i am 41 and wife is 37 with 2 children, no one is disabled
my wife works 24 hours
would i need to work 24 hours aswell ? ? ??0 -
Nope that will do. You just need 24 hours between you, with one of you working at least 16.matt987106 wrote: »thanks

Thats Jolly decent of you
As it happens, its only till sept when i start work full time again ( as my youngest will then be in school ) then we will get nothing again, Oh and i am 100 % sure my tax will fair outweigh anything we have claimed in the last years in a rather quick time as i will once again become a high tax payer
but thanks for another judgement , very nice of you0 -
Nannytone wasn't judging you. Some people who post are disabled/have health issues and may need to use a bold font or otherwise. If you do apply for WTC, any profit from your SE earnings need to go on the form along with your wife's earnings.
Your first year will be based on the year before.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0
