I use the service from Cheltenham to London quite alot firstly the bus will stop at a place about 20 mins walk from my house, at a cost of £26 return however if i walk into town and get the same bus i can pay as low as £11 work that one out, best part of it is if you ask the driver if they will driop you off at the stop nearer to my house i havent had one say no. Walking into town takes me 35 mins so for 15 mins of walking i can save £15, plus ive noticed that theyve jumped on the Olympic bandwagon and put the prices up.
One experience i had a few years ago is when it got to Cirencester all the drivers have been told not to do a 3 point turn however this one driver did and promptly reversed into and wrote off someones car who had parked behind the bus so they could use the public toilet this was at 6am the driver was taking his wife to heathrow to catch a plane he asked if the driver could take her to London which she said she could ......................and promptly tried to charge her £33 !!!!!
Basically she was soon wised up that she was taking the p155 by her husband and in the end she was took at no cost to London . The drivers attitude was nothing short of scandelous and when it got to Victoria i know now that two other people on the bus complained to National express seems now she is no longer working for them.
Ive had one driver fall sleep on the 11.30 pm out of Victoria coming down the M4 bus started swerving next thing luckily he got it back and then drove the next 10 miles with the window open !!!
Ive heard bad stories on megabus that the toilets are never emptied and its not unknown on the longer routes for the toilet to overflow all over the luggage,
Funniest thing is everytime i get the 11.30 pm out of Victoria there is always some idiot running round like a headless chicken trying to find their bus armed with god knows how many bags of shopping and once that bus is moving off its stand they will not let you on ive seen it numerous times certainly gonna be a long night for some people
End of the day i cant drive there park all day and drive home for what its costing me on the bus
