help MBNA

I wrote to MBNA asking if I had PPI on my credit card and how to claim they replied back on the 6th June apologising for the delay in responding as there investigations were taking longer than anticipated,they said they would respond by the 04/07/2012.
Two days later the wrote back 08/06/2012 advising that insurance was added to my account since 1997 ,they said I was eligible,but that they did not offer advice,in other words mine was a non advised sale.Having reviewed the information I provided ,there processes and disclosures,which they made to me at the time,they are satisfied I had sufficient information to make my own evaluation of and decision about the product on offer.On this basis they are unable to uphold my complaint,or issue a refund.

\they also add that this is there final response to my complaint.

Has anyone come across this before ? is it worth going to the FOS are MBNA trying it on as they have not given me much info as to what was said at the time of purchase.Also on the 6th june they said there investigations were taking longer than anticipated yet two days later they write saying No

Any help would be appreciated I am new to all this

Thanks::
