  • Another sunny day here, another PAD made. 50p today, just to round down my bank account.

Hopefully another NSD, packed lunches today and DD is off to guides (subs already been paid) so should get away with it.

Feeling shattered though, OH treated us to netflix as we got rid of our Sky subscriptions and we stayed up late watching episodes of 'The Office'. Work is going to feel long today!

Started my first lot of surveys on ValuedOpinions too last night and got another £1.75. Seems like it shouldn't take long to build up enough to get a voucher.

Yesterday was an NSD, sorted out the garage at the weekend and have tonnes of stuff for a car boot! Been checking the weather forecast and it looks miserable for the weekend, fingers crossed though as I could do with the extra money!

On a positive note, queried my DD's nursery fees bill and it was £16 too high so they've sent me a new invoice - only a small amount, but in the past I wouldn't have been brave enough to say anything and would have paid the extra for an easy life!

PAD today: £0.84 - it is nice seeing those round numbers in my bank account!

Won't be an NSD today as I've got to get the bus to work as OH is taking an exam this morning so can't drop me off. Fingers crossed that it doesn't rain!

  • A very mixed day today...

    First, the good bits!

Went shopping in Lidl's for the first time today, got a load of nice treats for packed lunches next week.

Found 4 boxes of CDs in the loft - entered them all into musicmagpie as really couldn't face listing them all on Ebay - grand total £129 (plus quidco cashback).

Also got a renewal notice for our pet insurance - cancelled that, went through quidco, got a quote for cover that costs half as much plus £60 cashback. Brilliant :)

Finally, got a nice letter from the money shop, offering to clear £50 off my payday loan if I pay £50 towards it. Definitely going to do that once I've got my cashback or if I make enough at the carboot.

There were also some bad bits...

My daughter is off on a trip with the girl guides to the olympics and I underestimated how much balance was left... £175 :(

Also, her bed has finally bit the dust after 11 years - springs coming through the matress and the frame falling apart. She has a bit of a funny back so she really needs a decent bed. One bit of silver lining - was just about to order a £200 bed from a big retailer when DH suggested ebay - found an almost identical one for £120 so a big difference in cost. Fingers crossed it arrives ok - the seller has great feedback so I'm hopeful.

    Phew, that's it for now!

Keep going I found I didn't get cash back from Music Magpie so well done on the great start though x
  • Just got up this morning to make my PAD and natwest internet banking is still down... grr. I think I'll go stick some change in a pot to make me feel better.

Lets hope they get it sorted soon - it is a horrible feeling not being able to trust your own bank balance - I'm frightened to make any payments or withdraw any cash as I'm not sure if the amount showing is right, or if it is all going to disappear suddenly overnight!

  • Thanks Belle, I think my nan still has hers in those fake baked bean tins you can stash in your cupboards... I think she might be on to something! :) You have a good day too!

Have a great day hun I'm not with Natwest either but my heart goes out to everyone who is. I hope the companies that Natwest customers are trying to pay their bills with are sympathetic to those customers!

I'm sure they'll sort it soon.
