Should work if you connect the scart sockets

Which DVD Recorder have you got?0 -
Thanks for reply. I have a panasonic dvd/recorder hooked up to the the Humax, the humax is last in the chain before the tv.
If I am watching the Humax and I switch on the panasonic I can watch dvd's no problem, but can't see the Humax channels on any of the AV channels of the dvd recorder, I have tried adding an extra scart but no good.

I always thought that the device doing the recording had to receive the channels as well.0

Have you got the exact model as panasonic only show these as current

Hopefully it isn't analogue0 -

It won't make any difference whether the DVD recorder has an analogue or freeview tuner, if the OP is feeding it via a SCART from the Humax.....
EDIT - the DVD recorder would have to be 'last in the chain before the TV' for this to hold........
OP, what do you mean you can't 'see' the Humax on any of the AV channels? Are you taking an output from the DVD recorder to the TV to monitor it?0 -
I understood that you might be able to record the channel the TV is tuned to0
-
No, the OP is trying to record from the channel the Humax is tuned to....
OP, does the TV have two AV (SCART) sockets? If so, connect the Humax to one and the DVD recorder to the other. Connect a SCART between the Humax and the recorder using their other SCARTs.
To watch the Humax, select on the TV the AV that the Humax is plugged into
To watch the DVD or monitor what you're recording to it from the Humax, select that AV on the TV.0 -
Hi folks,
Just wondering if I can record from a Humax freeview hd box onto a dvd recorder that uses the blank media, doens't have a built in hard drive?
Does HD in this context mean High Definition or Hard Drive?
If you mean Hard Drive, then Yes - take a SCART out from the Humax to the DVD recorder SCART in, press Play on the Humax and Record on the DVD, and Mildred's your Auntie....0 -
Thanks for replies. I have everything set up the way I want it except for the panasonic not being able to record the humax.
I have 2 scarts on my tv, one is occupied by the sky box another by cctv camera, the humax goes to the tv through RCA.
I need the humax to receive the Irish digital channels in case you are wondering why have sky box as well.
Its a panasonic DMR-ES10EB
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DMR-ES10EB-S-DVD-Disc-Recorder/dp/B0009EFO6C
about 7/8 years old I think.
I switch on the humax and then switch on the panasonic and the panasoic channels show up fine and will play dvd's no problem (the signal going from the panasoic through to the humax through scart) but on the panasonic's 4 av the humax channels don't show up, I have tried running a second scart from humax to panasonic but still no good.
Maybe the panasonic recorder is too old and not meant to reveive the humax channels.
its a standard humax hd (high definition) no hard drive in it.
Thanks a lot for all the help

If post 6 here doesn't help then maybe someone there can pinpoint things
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=316407
It mentions a different freeview box but the Panasonic settings may be similar0
