Advice re using Vanquis abroad

don't know how they charge you for swiping your card abroad.
however, i use vanquis credit card to buy a lot from japanese website, there's no extra convention fee on my bill.
acutally, japanese websites charge me for JPY and the transactions appear on my bill are in GBP with the currency exchange rate in description.
so i think if u book your hotel online via filling card details on the website, vanquis won't charge you extra convention fee, since this fee has already been included into the 'exchange rate'.0
