Thank you everybody for your replies. I did send a copy of my passport but have blanked out my passport number and place of birth so let's see whether that's accepted.

Couldn't you have brought it into one of their shops and got the store manager to confirm your details to head office or whatever ?

Same email here for a mini-football.

I sent a 'short' version of my birth certificate, however placed my own watermark over the top of this which included the fact that this remains the property of myself, must not be distributed to anyone except the intended receipent, do not give permission for any editing.
