House Sold ! .. nowhere to live !

Hi all.

Wonder if anyone has any advice please ? ... i've sold my home and after the failure of a very difficult relationship, have decided to relocate my job into another area. My children are stopping with my ex wife and my parents until such time that I have found my feet.

I have found an amazing house in an area that I know well but I cannot move in until the end of September. I need to be out of this house in the next two weeks  but still be able to commute to work every day. All the estate agents that I've contacted will only accept a minimum of 6 months letting. The agents won't entertain even asking landlords if they would be prepared to accept a very professional male for a few months. I've asked at work if they have any housing available for me but nothing is available. And as much as I love my parents, I will not inflict my unsociable working hours upon them.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
Many thanks Jim

Put your stuff in storage and look for a B&B?

Caravan site? If you can guarantee you'll book for a certain number of weeks, they might give you a generous discount! Or buy yourself a cheap camper van and only pay the site fees, then flog it again when you're ready to move in - lots on ebay!

thanks guys - have looked at most of the options already above. Have researched the local caravan site market, some of the caravans should be condemned ! and the area I live in is fairly residential with no real campsites around. Have looked into the B&B market but need to have my own cooking facilities (due to food intolerance). Also need to be able to accommodate my children overnight (so 2 bed place would be ideal) - I suppose it would have helped if I'd put the above in my original post !

Will try more websites suggested above - cheers guys

I may be in same position as selling my property but can't find anything I want to even look at let alone buy, and I've been looking for over 6 months. I spoke to letting agents and yes they are all a minimum of 6 months or 1 year. I'll be doing the 6 months probably as b&bs etc are fine for a few days but the cost for longer will be huge.
  • I'd opt for https://www.spareroom.com and then advance book at https://www.premierinn.com for family weekends.
