Temporary housing for builders?

I might be having a team of builders come from some distance away. They think they will be working on my house for three months this summer. The only problem is.....they are too far to daily commute.
Options seem to be renting near by (a shame to get a six month tenancy that they will not need to use more than half of) or renting mobile homes or caravans to put here (we have space, but not sure how drainage for showers would work....loo is ok as there will be a partaloo). Does anyone have any idea how much the latter would cost? Having a quick look at local hire places hiring a caravan for a week in summer is more than half a months rent locally!

You would better off buying some cheap caravans and then selling them off when finished. This is quite a common practice. You can hire in a combined toilet and shower unit from the likes of portaloo etc, but you will need to rig up a temporary connection to the waste.
You could get them lodgings locally which could be cost effective. Alternatively you could do low cost b & b locally.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Isn't it their problem? !
However for whatever reason you are taking it on as yours, I suspect they will want to go home at the weekend.
If the garden is big enough why not
1: agree a 4 day 12 hour week, and let them buy a big tent in which they stay for 3 nights.
They arrive at 8am Monday and leave 8pm Thursday.
2:I am sure they can hook up a field kitchen toilet and shower under a gazebo too.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
Ask the woman who does the student hosting if she's got any local/suitable families that could put them up. The sort of people who will take in students might also be the sort of people who can accommodate some builders 3-4 nights a week for X months.
Offer her a £50 bung for a successful outcome.0
