Here's my dilema. My ex and I ran up some debts over 7 years ago. I paid all the ones off that I knew about at the time. Recently I discovered an outstanding CCJ that comes off in Nov, its in my name. I own my own house, salary is in excess of £55k, no arrears ever or debt issues. I need to open a joint current account with my new wife. I could try and stall until Nov but would rather not. Anyone have any suggestions please. The CCJ was with Barclays, would they remove it? Or any banks take a sympathetic view? My own bank is BOS. Been with them for years but they seems to be of the computer says no variety! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
am not really clued up on CCJ's,
but wouldn't it just be better if you paid it,
then get in touch with experian/equifax who ever you saw it with and tell them that it has been settled,
then your credit I assume would be fine,
and you could get sorted for a joint account,
also have you tried
https://www.citibank.co.uk
they seem to have been very good with people who have a coloured credit history,
no harm meant by that,
good luck
