ITV player not working or youtube vidios

Hi
This problem is driving me crazy been trying to find a solution for a cpl off weeks now, i have updated flash player but still no joy
When i try to watch itv player or any material like youtube or vidios posted to my wall on face book the vidio is displaying and playing but with lots off intermitent breaks in the sound , does not seem to be a buffering problem just lots off breaks in the sound...i have searched google for an answer to this problem but cannot find a solution.
Does anybody know what this may be ?

yes it used to work ok iam not sure when it strated playing up, i use firefox and also had google chrome installed, i un installed google chrome yesterday and its working a wee bit better but still skiping & breaking any ideas what it may be ?
