Seems they're having real problems this weekend.

Yesterday evening their Visa system was down, there I was standing in Sainsbury's with no working debit card and no way of getting money from the ATM even.

You mean you walked into a shop with only a single method of payment?

I know your card should have worked, but you should never assume that.

I never walk into any shop without at least 2 CCs and 1 DC (just in case the CCs get declined).

Wouldn't say I was paranoid, but I've seen people get payments rejected and having to go redfaced, call the manager, cancel the tranasction and restock the shelves. Even if your account is in perfect order, the transaction may still be declined whenever the card issuer decides.

No, I had two debit cards with me, as always. Just so happens both were for co-op accounts. So shoot me.

I would, but alas, I'm out of bullets. Perhaps you could oblige.
