Hi all,

I have recently been rejected for a credit card and I am going to try and appeal it to see if they will reconsider.

I see other folk on the forum have given proof of income and proof of being on the electoral role. What are the best methods to prove this.

BTW what will be shown on a credit report for a rejected credit card? Does it explicitly mention a rejection or just the search?

Jonathan

    P60 and/or payslips?

Do you have any letters from your local electoral registration body confirming your registration?

Thanks, I have the P60. Do you think council tax bill form the local council is good enough for proof of being on the electoral?

No, a council tax bill is not proof of being on the electoral roll, they are two separate registers. However, if you email them, or ask them to write, they can send you proof, when I moved I got a letter from my District Council confirming the date I'd be added to the register and removed from the old address.

Thanks the letter did the trick and I got notice of their decision being overturned. Might even get the card for my holiday soon which will be a bonus. If not I'm sure I can use it abroad sometime soon.
