Look on Ebay and if you google there is a site that will tell you the road tax on a specific vehicle.

we have the citroen C5 estate that we got 2nd hand for £4K about 4 years ago.
I have seriously considered the VW Caravelle as this has plenty of seats AND the all important boot space, the other cars mentioned you can EITHER have 7 seats OR boot space not both.

FWIW I wouldn't have the C5 it's too wide, too big, has stupid suspension, and has stupid lights that come on and off at random causing accidents.
just in case you need to know:

If budget tight and you want a good car then go Japanese! My brother in law has a Mazda 626 that has been abused all its life and refuses to die. Go for a really clean one owner 50k mile Toyota Avensis VVti (old turbo diesel better than the newer common rail thingy) or don't discount a Kia Magentis - my next door neighbour taxi driver has nearly 200k miles on his with few problems. If taxi work is anything to go by round her a Skoda Superb might be worth a punt too.
