Best site(s) to keep track of holiday deals?

Due to a number of factors, our plans to go on holiday have had to be delayed probably into next year, as a result we're going to try and be a little more spontaneous (other than 'big' holidays we plan outside of Europe) and just look out for good deals.
Can anyone please recommend any sites to keep an eye on for general good deals? TravelZoo is the best site I've found so far, but it's quite limited beyond simply picking your destination, it'd be nice be able to filter maybe by area/type of holiday (for example a clubbing or beach-only break wouldn't appeal at all) and also by hotel also (I'm a fussy git and would prefer a 4* if possible, though anywhere with an en-suite would do) but it's hard to know where to start.
Also, I'm yet to find a site that will actually let you pick a start/end date and show all deals that apply - not very handy since my girlfriend has only one week in the next 3 months that she can have off, we need to be quite specific in our search...
Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thank you!
