Regularly got offers from MBNA. Last 12 months notice on account to ring for details of promotional offers. Today message is check back to see offers that might be available in the future.
Anyone else had this and were more forthcoming - or should we close both accounts and reapply with another provider in a couple of months?

Same on my Virgin (MBNA backed) card.
MBNA are pulling out of the credit card market
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/loans/2011/09/mbna-pulls-uk-credit-cards
and so I would say this is quite possibly the reason why. They probably don't want any/many people on special offers.
I always had at least 2 or 3 promotional offers available to me since getting the card 3 years ago.
That was despite me never paying them any interest over the past 3 years either, as after I cleared a BT to it, I have always used 0% on purchases deals.
None of my other 5 cards have ever offered me anywhere near as much as my Virgin Card. But sadly it would seem my favourite credit card may no longer be worth holding on to anymore.
At the moment I'm looking around for another 0% purchase card and in the meantime any spending will go on my M&S card and be paid off in full to avoid interest and to get their money off vouchers.0 -
Yes the BT offeres have started up again now they are are not selling the bussiness and they have also started offering their own branded card again. I just took up a 13month 0% exisiting customer offer.0

Ring them up and ask, they may offer you one, especially if you have a large enough balance to transfer. That's what happened to me.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I keep getting BT offers from a couple of my others cards (Natwest, Halifax), but I don't have a balance to transfer.
I really only do 0% purchase deals nowadays, but I guess if I couldn't get another 0% purchase card and want to make a reasonably expensive purchase, on my M&S card and then transfer the balance and just stomach the 3% fee.
After the last couple of posters have said, I'll keep an eye on my Virgin card online and see if another 0% purchase offer appears.0 -
It's interesting you provided the link to MBNA pulling out.
They've re-introduced an MBNA Branded card:

Looks like MBNA have had a change of heart about the UK market.
One thing though. In the linked page above, the MBNA card is shown as Visa. My Virgin (MBNA) card is a Mastercard.0
