Today i Had 1 unwanted text from quickquid phone number 0808 101 1382.

QuickQuid application almost complete! Contact 0808 101 1382 to provide us with another email address. Text QUID to 88802 to unsubscribe.

this was at 17.30. at 17.44 they called me off the same number (not withheld) i hung up when i heard and american voice. then 17.45 the same text as above.

I have never contacted QuickQuid for a loan, nor until today been on their webpage. I phone their complaints line. (0800 number, shame the bank can't do that!) Spoke to an american refused to give her any details other than the phone number they called me on.

She claimed they had contacted me in error and that they had no record of that number on their records.

I don't like coincidences, I think this could be a cold sale tactic. Anyone else had this?

I have to admit it is an outside possibility. But the normal sane side of me thinks, if you desperate enough to approach them for a loan, you'd be so deep in it that you'd make sure the application is perfect when filling it in.

But thats just me i guess.

Stick around chubbs, we've had more than a few who were completely mesmerised by those pound signs they put the wrong account number down.
It leads to all manner of joy when the lender wants the loan repaid.

QuickQuid has asked to post a response. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the forum.

    Hi chubbs1981,
We don't market to customers unless they have opted in to receive marketing communications from us. Have you recently applied for a loan through a lead provider website? As we are the actual lender for some of those loans, this may be where the confusion is coming from. If you haven't applied through a loan with a lead provider, it is entirely possible that someone input the incorrect phone number by accident on their application. It sounds as though you have already contacted us about this, however I've alerted our Customer Service Team about this and if you'd like to contact us again at 0808 234 4558 please reference that you were instructed to call in by QuickQuid on Money Saving Expert and someone will be sure to get your situation sorted!
Could you do with a Money Makeover?
