Letting with bad credit

Hi,

Myself and the girlfriend are looking to move in together and have found our dream place. The letting agent phoned and said subject to a credit check and references the landlord would like us to let the flat.

We can both easily afford it and the charges are not a problem, the biggest issue is the credit check! I have a very poor credit rating (307) but never had a CCJ or filed for bankruptcy but the Girlfriend has an impeccable credit rating. I have said that the Girlfriend can go down as the Lead Tennant and she is more than okay with this.

So the main question is, is this going to be a problem? She is in love with the property and if we get rejected i know she'll be very upset and it will be all because of me and my stupidity in the past.

As long as you don't have any CCJ's then I think you should be ok as these don't show up on the lenders search....I'm in exactly the same boat as yourself my credit rating is in the toilet but have no CCJ's and partners is excellent. Have just today handed in the fee's so will keep you poseted as to the outcome. Hope this helps
