Advice on shortening the length of teflon coated vertical blinds pls.

Hi, I have some vertical blinds that need about 1cm of the length due to new tiling. They are teflon coated not sure if this makes a difference but thought i'd mention it.

They are bonded at the bottom and top, no stitching present. I have googled but no clear help on how to or what to use, so would appreciate any guidance please. Thank you.

We cut ours with sharp scissors - but it is really difficult to get them all exactly the same length. Before you start, make sure you have a long area with a marked tape measure stuck on. Turn over the tops to the required length and slide into the fixings (if they are already in, then leave them in), then lay and measure each slat to the nearest mm - honestly! Not sure that ours were Teflon - but they were plasticized in some way. It wasn't hard, but quite time consuming to get all the lengths equal. It looks awful if you don't.

Thanks for the help, ours are normal material blinds they just have a teflon coating to stop dirt bit like school trousers :)

I was wondering how did you seal the ends after you cut them as these are bonded together, can you just glue them? or do you think stitching them on a machine is best?

Didn't need to seal the ends at all - they just slid into the (plastic) strips. If yours are fraying in any way - perhaps a dab of clear nail varnish would stop this?

Doh! Just remembered - we folded the ends over about a cm before we slid them into the plastic strips. No glue was needed but it was the final length to the fold that needed to be pretty much spot on.

See if you can move the rail up a fraction, then you wont have to cut/glue the bottoms up...5 minuet job done and dusted.....
