A4 Suspension File Problems With Filing Cabinet!

Hiya

Ive been given a 4 drawer huge BN filing cabinet. I bought 100 A4 suspension files off Ebay as Im trying to sort all paperwork but have gone to use and they are too small width wise:confused:

It looks like you can put something in there to put what size files you want in as there are grooves, but where do I get them from? Some sort of pole????

Any help would be greatly appreciated:D

Thanks

I'd get rid of (or flog) the A4 hangers and get some foolscap ones which will fit the filing cabinet. I suspect that although the cabinet has space to take a narrower hanging run, you'll only be able to get them from the original manufacturer, if they still make them. I'd also guess that 4 sets of narrow hanging rails will be more expensive than a pack of foolscap suspension files. You can get a seperate rack that will fit in the drawer, but in our office stationery catalogue these are £23 each!

We had an A4 cabinet once and it was a pain as most standard folders are bigger than A4, and you also had to make sure everything lined up perfectly to fit in - no sloppy hole punching etc. Some documents come in wallets - e.g. insurance policies which are bigger than A4, and you'd have trouble fitting these down between the narrower runners.

Do they fit at a 90 degree angle to how you are trying to put them in at the moment?

Or did the filing cabinet come with some small metal bars?

    Hi,

I work for a stationery company and it sounds like you need the foolscap size :D

The foolscap size is a bit bigger than the A4 size - they will look the same it's just the size that's different.

Can I ask where you bought them from coz they sound really expensive.
  • ebay...lol
