Mistake on Job Seekers Allowance claim form

Hi,
I recently applied for Job Seekers allowance and in turn housing and council tax benefit, however, I have realised I have made a mistake on the form itself.
Basically I forgot to mention two savings accounts I have, one with only a few pence in and another with £3,600 in. I know this might seem like I'm trying to fiddle my claim. But it is an honest mistake having filled the form in in a rush, and as I understand it this amount of savings wouldnt effect entitlement to the above benefits anyway.
So, what do I do, if I contact the relevant departments and tell them will they cancel my claim? Is this an offence of somekind??
Thanks in advance for help...

Everybody makes mistakes filling in forms,
you are right 3.5k capital doesnt effect HB/CT or JSA IB or Conts.
They will not cancel your claim but I would ring them up and declare the capital it will be ok.0 -
I find it amazing that someone so desperate for state intervention in their lives as they can't make money themselves "forgets" about 3.5K sitting in an account! (Maybe its just me!)
But as above, 3.5K won't effect your claim. Suggest you ring them up and declare the money before DWP data-matching flags it.
D70How about no longer being masochistic?
How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?0 -

Hi,
Whilst you may find this 'amazing' please don't judge me you don't know my individual circumstances. I simply filled the form in too quickly and obviously opted for the wrong 'ticky' boxes. That is all.
But thanks for you advice non the less.0
