You'll be fine eating it as you normally do. If all else fails, when it goes into the freezer take off the yellow sticker and he'll never know

When I used to buy sliced bread I kept in the freezer & separated the slices form the loaf I needed when I needed to use them.0

If it's an unsliced loaf, you cloud slice it up before you freeze it; that way you can just take out as much as you want at a time from the freezer. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Not just men, I was in the pub [as blokes do] when wife of fellow drinker rang him to say the spuds were out of date & he had to get some fresh ones for the dinner on his way homeGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
Do spuds even go out of date? i buy huge sacks i've never even noticed a date on them lol, i'm sure it legally has to eb but it must be tiny.
i have another point to make, does anyone find bread doesn't go stale anymore? i find my bread goes mouldy long before it goes stale, with the exception of bakery bread.DEC GC £463.67/£450

We rarely buy anything except 'whoops' stickered bread! Freeze it or not, you know to look at it whether or not it's inedible
quintwins: Fruit and veg are generally given a 'best before' date, not a 'use by' date. Again, you'll know to look at it! (or smell!!)Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

DH thinks (is he right) that if a loaf is reduced to 1/2 price with date ending say today then if we freeze it today and defrost next week we have to eat it within 24 hours?
No, not at all, the bread will just go mouldy in which case you wouldn't eat it, regardless of the date.
You could just take out a few slices at a time and use that. We oftern freeze half a loaf just so as not to waste it.0
