SMS text: <Empty reply from service provider>

Hi chaps,

I have been using my Samsung Galaxy S3 for about 3 weeks now on the 3 network and I think it's terrific.

But just a strange query really. One of my contacts who I send regular text messages to receives my text as normal but whenever he texts me or replies to my text the content of the message is just <Empty reply from service provider>.

Does anyone know what this error is? Or how to resolve it?

I've not come across this before and it only seems to be with this one contact. So far as I am aware this contact's phone isn't a smartphone but is a relatively up-to-date phone and is on a major UK network.

My phone is running Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 on the 3 network.

At a guess, one of you (probably him since he's the one contact that has the issue) has an incorrect SMSC (sms centre) in the phone.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure if my contact is having a problem with any other contacts, so I'll just speak to them and see what's happening.
