Not being very good with computers I could really do with someone to give a very simple guide on how to use a memory stick please. My eldest offspring has sent me one from university saying to put documents and letters onto the stick. Apart from not knowing how to use it, I dont know why I would use it. Help please but keep it very simple, this is very embarrassing. Thanks in advance.

Plug it into one of the available USB sockets. Wait while the drivers are installed. Once that's done, open Computer / My Computer (or use the keyboard shortcut of WIN-KEY + E), the USB stick will appear with it's own drive letter (probable e: or f: ). You may now save files to it, or copy/move existing files using copy and paste (if you wish to keep the original on the computer) or cut and paste (to move it to the USB stick)
Note: Having a file in just one place is not recommended.
To avoid possible file corruption, ALWAYS ensure any files you are using from the USB stick are closed before unplugging it.How do I add a signature?0
