A NCT nearly new sale ?
Hiya,
Can anyone advise me on what to do for best please.
I am having a major sort out and have got loads of stuff - too much to put on ebay, lots of big bulky items - although at least half of it is brand new.
Usually i do a car boot - although i usually do them in the summer.
Have been looking at National Childbirth Trust (NCT) nearly new sales as i have been to a couple in the past and sound ok and have been thinking of applying next week. (As it states on their website)
I have a few "good & bad reasons/pro's&con's" on whether or not to try and sell myself but would like some opinions/feedback :idea:please.
2. You take your stuff there and pick it up later. (although have looked into info about volenteering)
2. If i price too low - i wont make a lot - as they take 25% which is not a problem as it is about what would be took if sold on ebay. (I understand that this money is taken for the charity and the people that are volenteering are giving up their day to sell my stuff so i am happy for them to take 25 % - just unsure of price structure)
I am unsure
what to do as most of the stuff is Brand New - Unopened and Unused and so i would like to try and make some of the money i have spent on these things when i purchased them --> :idea:Please can you advise me.

Great Reasons
1. The people that go to NCT sale are going to look/buy baby&child items so its aimed at specific people.2. You take your stuff there and pick it up later. (although have looked into info about volenteering)
Bad Reasons
1. If i price things too high to start with - i cant reduce it throughout the day if it doesnt sell.2. If i price too low - i wont make a lot - as they take 25% which is not a problem as it is about what would be took if sold on ebay. I organise a couple of NCT sales so maybe I can help?
Most sales have some sort of pricing guidelines to help on the type of price you might get and you could also do a recce or two at other nearby sales. I also say price as to what you would be prepared to pay.
Whilst the buyers attending are focussed into the area of goods for sale - you are still dependent on the person walking through the door wanting what you have brought along. But that is no different to a boot sale really.
Large equipment, if you stay to help, you could leave a message to say you would accept a lower offer (or levae your mobile number) - we probably have half a dozen items each time that we sell for a slightly lower amount each sale (with owners permission) but obviously we can't do it on everything as we may have 4500 - 6000 items to sell!
hope this helps,
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Thank you for you reply,

Im assuming that once i have paid the deposit/fee, i get info through the post and would the guidelines of prices be included ?
Would i get stickers to price items?

Is it possible to put "ono" on the price sticker and a list of a few larger items of the lowest price i would accept ?
Do you mind if i ask you a few other questions please as both me and my mum have tried to ring a number on website a few times and i understand they must be busy so am unsure about a few things :-
1. When selling clothes - do i have to provide coathangers ?
2. I understand Electrical equipment is not allowed but what about battery electronic toys ?
3. Are Pictures/glass frames for the nursery/new baby allowed ?
4. What can and cant be sold and what is the condition that they have to be in ?
5. What age range items can be sold - as in items/toys for 12 year old or 16 year old ?
Ive got so much stuff and still sorting out:- clothes, toys, bags, feeding items, videos, childrens/teenager items/toys, new-born baby gifts, soft toys, cushions, nursery/bedroom pictures in frames, outdoor toys, birthday party items (candles, plastic cups, paper platesects) bathroom toys, colouring items, and loads of brand new items & toys.
Thank You.~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0
