£2 and under: Ideas for non-chocolate easter gifts for kids

Options
Hello,

I have 3 kids to buy for at easter- 9y/o and 12y/o girls and a 15y/o boy. None of their parents allow them chocolate (fair enough).

Any ideas for the 15y/o boy? about £2 to spend. got his sister- the 12y/o 4 nail varnishes in the xmas sales from boots. got the 9y/o 2 notebooks in the sales which she'll love.

Great thread! I never buy my god children chocolate because i know they'll get enough from grandparents etc. I normally buy them a storybook or sticker book about Easter.

As for 15 year old, does he have an Ipod? You can buy giftcards for Itunes, you could buy him £2 to download himself a couple of tracks he likes.
  • my nephew likes the Original Source shower gels (last time I got 2 for 1 in Sainsbury's but Boots also have them)

you could buy him a novelty mug, or something from the joke shop, or a poster ?

oooh, he has got an ipod, credit for that would be very good... and he loves liverpool fc so maybe a poster or magazine on that. i got him smellies for xmas as he thinks he needs to shave (ah-hem), and for his birthday i got him a book (pandas and handstands) and socks.

i wondered about money tins, ive seen them for 99p and could fill them with loose change...

No help to the OP I'm afraid:o but it sounds liek you've got a few ideas & this might help others with younger children. My 19 month old isn't allowed chocolate (yet!) so when people are asking me what to get him instead I'm suggesting a pot of play-doh instead of an egg. At around 99p for a small pot it's inexpensive, always apprecieated (you can never have enough play-doh) & easy to get hold of for everyone old or young.

    HTH someone;)

I usually put together little goody bags for the kids in our family - I know from what we get for our boys that there is more than enough chocolate going around to feed an army, lol.

No use for your teenage boy probably (my age range is 9 years and under), but this year I have bought suncatcher kits from eBay, add a couple of chocolate easter bunny lollies (79p for 10 in Lidl) or Easter Jellies (99p for 2 large bags of individually wrapped ones in Instore/Poundstretcher), and each child has a slightly personalised goody bag for less than £3 (leave out the sweets to get nearer the £2 mark)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Partners the Stationers have got those excellent baked beans tin safes. Probably the fact that I have always wanted one has prompted me to get one for my son, and it was only 99p. Having said that, I will probably fill it with chocolate ... but at least he'll think he's keeping it safe from the chocolate monster aka Mum.

Again, maybe for younger kids than op ... how about a big flowerpot that they can paint themselves with some sunflower seeds and soil etc. so they can plant their own seeds and watch it grow??? My ds loves these as he can "do" something with it (rather than just eat choccy), and it keeps a link with the spring etc. ;)
