Bin Men and council

They keep missing half our street (its a main road) every few weeks. Its like they get half way and then just stop and go off somewhere else.
Every time I complain to the council they just say its a one off so wont come and empty the bins until the following week - this means everyone leaves their bins out. They end up tipped over and thrown in the road. Is there anything I can do other than keep complaining when it happens?

Glue your bin to the pavement to stop people tipping it over?
In all seriousness, my council were good when we had a similar incident.0 -
What did your ward councillors say when you told them? There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0

I wish we had a bin to put out. Our council only provides 52 black bags per year.
Its a race between the foxes and the bin men who gets there first0 -
We've had to complain to the council in the past as,thanks to people who live on the main road who have only on street parking on one side of the road, they park at the bottom of our cul-de-sac.
As the entrance is quite narrow,if they park on both sides of our road,it makes it near impossible for any vehicles wider than a standard car to access the road.0 -
Sounds like you need to keep a written record of each occasion, if they're saying its a "one off".
Then hit them with a list, and back it up with an email trail of a complaint you made for each event!0 -
Any local papers your can try and write a letter to.0
