Hi,
My daughter is 16 and about to start an apprenticeship. She would like a bank account with a debit card and obviously no overdraft.
Any advice or info would be great
Thanks
Clare.

Most banks will be suitable with past experience I would go with Barclays or lloyds & with Barclays she can personalise her debit card.0

Lloyds or Bank of Scotland look the best bets?0 -
From researching this last week, I don't think any banks give 16-17 year olds overdrafts, even if they asked for one.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

It's because they don't you've got to be 18 years old but what's this got to do with the OP's question.0 -

Huh? The OP asked for advice or help!!
I'm just saying no banks will give that age category an overdraft so that's something they don't have to fret about.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I'd say the LTSB Under 19s account.
She'd get- a debit card
- access to her money at any ATM, not just their own branches (apparently some of the young peoples accounts out there don't let you)
- interest on credit balances ( at 2.5% its better than my savings account!)
- to sign up to their mobile banking service where they can text through your balances etc (as most young people nowadays seem to live through their mobile)
