My First Credit Card

Options
Hi Everyone

I would just like to jump straight in and ask: when is the best time to start thinking about getting your first credit card? Bearing in mind that I'm 19 years of age and currently in full time employment.

I already have a debit card but I know that building a good credit score is important when I come to buy my own house, car and start fending for myself.

So is there a right time to get a credit card or is it never too early?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!:)

Try for one now. Your own bank or aqua, vanquis etc. Set up a DD to pay off in full each month and just buy the things you would anyway (petrol, food). No extra spending on holidays, hookers, gambling, etc.

If you get rejected, give it a few months before apply again.
