Car Insurance Declined

Hi there

I am insured at the moment with Admiral, but I have had two claims this year, one very small, caused by malicious damage, and the other of which was properly messy as their authorised garage did a terrible job and I complained regularly and eventually threatened to take them to the Ombudsman about how I was treated. In the end, I actually didn't do it I was too worn out.

Anyway, now they won't insure me again for next year. Would they have done this because of the number of claims I had, or because I kicked off with them?

The fact that they won't insure me again, is this an official "decline" that I am going to have to declare to whoever next insures me?

Am I entitled to the reasons for it?

Thanks. This is a whole new area for me.

Phone them and ask why the renewal is not being offered. Or instead ask them the question as to whether they automatically do not invite renewal, where two claims have been made within 12 months.

I have heard this before, that someone with 2 claims in a year, have been declined renewal, so it may be the policy of their underwriters.

You will have to phone around for quotes and mention that the last Insurers did not offer renewal. My opinion is that anyone with claims to declare should phone a broker or companies directly, so that information is captured correctly.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
