The sort code is definately valid. Even though its a new account I have checked it with Barclays and online via two different sort code checkers.

First transaction but fully operational, ie 'marked active' for over a month.
The clearing house still says its the sort code which makes no sense to me.0 -
If neither BOC nor Barclays can offer a coherent explanation, raise a formal complaint and if you are still not satisfied, escalate the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.0
