Halifax secure on tesco

I have just tried to check out on tesco grocery and I'm getting a Halifax secure window. I used to be signed up with the old halifax secure but then it stopped many months ago. you used to have to put in a password and could see a security answer that you previously set so you knew it was right but this time its a bit different. It asks for last 3 digits back of card, expiry date, start date and date of birth.
Why do they want to know those when youve already put it in during check out apart from birthdate? it does not seem very good security checking to me, a lot of people would know your dob anyway. They no longer ask for a password.
Is this genuine? I cancelled checking out until asking on here

If it says 'verified by visa'
nothing to worry about.
Plus if the check out also has https it's a secure connection.• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -
Those questions sound like those that are asked when you first register, maybe it was just asking you to re-register for the Verified By Visa Service?0
