Why not use the Aqua card up to its limit each month and then move over to your existing card after that?

I decided against this card in the end, partially due to the low limits but also after reading a fair number of posts on here about Aqua and the card in question. One particular point was that the 3% offer could just be a big fat carrot to lure in new custom.

You really are worrying unnecessarily here. I have 7 current accounts now. Each one was opened with a cash incentive (from £50 up to £200 for the recent Co-Op Bank account), and I can move funds between them in seconds using Faster Payments. Provided you ensure you type in the correct Sort Code and Account Number when you first set up the payment details the funds will not go astray.

I do multiple fund transfers every month by Faster Payments, and the extra £10 a month from Halifax at least pays for a round of drinks.

There are people on the stoozing site who are using Faster Payments to move amounts in the order of £50k to £100k every night manipulating bank "cut off times" to effectively earn interest on the same funds from 2 bank accounts. Personally I have not gone this far but my point is that once you are used to moving funds by Faster Payments it really isn't a problem, and £10 a month from Halifax for a few seconds work is a great deal.

    Good Luck all the same.

Part of me thinks its too much hassle. I know it doesn't take that long, but say I occasionally forget to do the transfer - I wouldn't want to be hit with any charges or anything. Not to mention it's another financial asset to keep track of!

Maybe something consider for the future though, once I've read up on how people play the systems etc.

    Application Update:

Called CapOne, it went through and I was accepted! :D The page it crashed on was the agreement signing page so I now have to wait for paper versions to come via snail mail...:wall: I was however quite impressed with the call - I was done and dusted in about 3 minutes!

Thanks for all the advice, very appreciated :)

    Hi all,

Just to update and say that my card finally arrived today :D, a week after the PIN and just under 3 weeks since the application.

Activated the card using their automated system (was expecting non-automated as they listed opening times). Just get an error on their site when rying to register an online account now!

However, the mobile app works a treat so I'm not completely spending blind ;)

Thanks for all the advice, very appreciated!

    Cheers

    Karl
