Santander bank charges

Hi all

I wrote to Santander 2 weeks ago to try and claim back bank charges as I am in financial hardship. They replied to me today saying they had refunded me £70 of charges and wouldn't charge me again until end August. They've said if I'm not happy I can go to FOS.

I'm just not sure what to do, obviously I'm grateful of the result but I was hoping for a lot more back. If I go to theombudsman can they then revoke their original offer and put the charges on me again? I was thinking of writing to them asking for £500 and then I wouldn't go to the ombudsman.

I just wondered if anyone had any experience of Santander and what the next best thing to do would be please.

Many thanks.

It sounds as though they have already refunded you the £70.

If you want another £430, you can either write to the bank and ask for it, or, as they have already advised, you can now go direct to the FOS.
