i,ve had an mbna credit card for approx 30yrs and had a limit of about £9,000 on it in sept 2001 i had a serious accident in work and have not been able to work since, over the years i have tried debt management comp but found them to be taking more than they were paying off my debt so i went on my own and made arrangements to pay what i could afford, now i will admit they have been very understanding over the years and now i only owe them a couple of hundred quid even though the card has been canx for years and am still paying it off do you think if i did have that ppi would i still be able to make a claim even though they agreed to stop any interest on the account, can i still claimfor ppi up to time i stopped paying interest on the card? any advice would be appreciated.

If you have not claimed on the ppi and it was mis sold then yes. One question.....why if you've been paying for it and you've been unable to work HAVE YOU NOT CLAIMED?

The way I read this (which is difficult no full stops or splits in text properly) is that the op does not have PPI and is thinking of adding it on to his account his he can claim [I may be wrong].

If this is the case then I would be very surprised if you can claim after the event. Like any other insurance you can't get it and claim for something that happened in the past.

The PPI provider will require proof and when they see the issue happened over 10 years ago, I would expect them to throw the case out. Therefore you spending money for nothing

This is not one of the "usual flaming" posts. But given MBNA entered the UK market in 1993, its not really possible to have had their card for (nearly) 30 years - 19 at most, provided you were one of their first customers, which is still a considerable amount of time.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
