in Credit cards
Major mess and I am so annoyed with myself. My husband and I are both decent earner with excellent credit score (did have) until recently!
I stupidly brought a few items on Next website. I presumed they were paid for, I didnt realise it created an account.
Long boring story short. The account name is randomly in my husbands name but all the details are mine. I can only think I used his card for first purchase but my details.
I get a final reminder text today which I responded too immediately. They wouldnt speak to me as my husband (who has never even been on Next website) was named on the account (even thought the phone they text was mine).
We paid the full balance immediately...HOWEVER we have just checked and it has gone onto our Experian report as a late payment and his score has gone from excellent to fair.
Ironically after never ever having bad credit, we have applied for mortgage today and I am gutted.
My first question, is it possible to get it changed into my name, the bad debt isnt his. It seems silly, I could apply in your name and rack up debt. I wholeheartly take responsibility it is my fault. It shouldnt reflect on his score.
I really dont know what to do.....

Another one with an excellent credit score with a company that don't lend money.
Please Take no notice of credit experts (experian) scores as they are not a true reflection of your actual score a lender would give you.0
